Next!

No rest!!

Not allowed to stop!

Got to have a motorway lesson next week, get used to driving Michelle's car and the route to work and back, sort out car insurance, find my way around Leighton Buzzard, tidy up after the Intranet release, sort out money transfers, finish decorating Michelle's little room so there's somewhere to put clothing....

The list continues but it's all very dull and boring and ordinary and well, there you go!

No rest!

Next!!

Missions accomplished

Wow! What a week!

Passed driving test, launched the Intranet that I'd been working on for over a year filed my tax return and paid the tax...

Phew!

I've also just driven on my own for the 1st time too... aaaall the way from Milton Keynes town centre to Leighton Buzzard! It was soooo cooool! I really like driving. Which is a good job because from the end of next week I'll be doing it all on my own. Driving to work in MK and home to LB each day... should get my driving experience up fast! The plan is for me to do the driving next week with Michelle in the car to check that I'm not abusing it and for me to get used to the rush hour drive whilst there's company!

Should be interesting!

My reward for all these things was some new boots and music and a night out with work friends. We've started up regular nights out - starting to get a ususal crowd too which is great... each time the organisation is passed on to another person to arrange the next 'do'.

This time round it was Bistro Live. You eat (3 courses, decent Thai salmon, VERY generous with the veg) and drink - there's no bar the service staff come to you (you have to wave a flag to get their attention) and then there's a band and then someone plays tunes - there's lots of dancing. I danced myself stiff. They encourage you to dance on the tables too. Not a good night to be seen in public wearing a skirt for the 1st time this year. Luckily it was knee length ;o)

Was a good laugh... just checking out the pics whilst I listen to my new music so I'll post them next....

2 down 1 to go

Yaaaaaaay! Again.

The Intranet is launched!

Oh what a relief... a year's work finally reaches a completion point (there are quite a few more things to do).

But, well, YAAAAAAAAY!

[ahem]

Before I calm down let's have something exciting to look at!

One down - 2 to go!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

I did it, passed my driving test!!!!!

Phew!

So much was riding on my being able to drive! No small amount of pressure then!

Well, the quality of the instruction has been excellent so I am very grateful!

And excited!!!!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!

Now there's only the tax return and the intranet launch to take care of by Friday...

Oh well, back down to earth!

Toooo much stuff to do!

Waaaaa!

I can't believe there's so much stuff happening all at the same time...

But in any case the image that spoke to me today is this one:

It's called Protea by posted by the person known as 'solvent' on depthcore.com (I like solvent's stuff on there).

So just how many more things can be added into this week, let me see....

We have:
  • Wallpaper a small room
  • Build a bed
  • Unpack a bedroom's worth of stuff
  • Take a driving test
  • Complete and post a tax return (including calculating the tax)
  • At work: Launch the Intranet (that's taken over a year to develop including a news publishing system and process, 3 web applications inc a staff directory, organisation charting tool and search facility and waaaa so much is still left to do!!! Like putting some news stories up for the launch day, introducing the editorial team to the new system, writing an article for the launch...the web apps need new styles applying, the search facility ammendments haven't yet come back from the suppliers...)
  • By Wednesday I will also have managed to fit in 8 hours of driving lessons since Sunday whilst getting to the gym tonight by 6pm (I have a driving lesson at 6.45am tomorrow!).
And the list just keeps on growing....

Today I'm in a much lighter mood

Had my appraisal at work - good stuff.

Driving instructor says not to worry about the driving test (next Wednesday) that I shouldn't have any problems.

Move stuff is getting sorted.

Tax return is getting sorted (and is not as bad as I expected so far).

So just now I feel a bit more like this:

Even the fact that the office smells really bad (a dead thing we can't locate - probably a rat) and is often cold when we have to open the door to breathe occasionally, isn't affecting me at the moment!

Well, in a way it is 'cos I feel slightly nauseous but otherwise... ;o)))

Wooo - productive!

My goodness what a productive weekend!

Saturday morning I managed to fit in a 2 hour driving lesson, get the yearly tax on my savings account for my tax return (just got the other accounts to sort out the same for now), get a key cut, re-direct my post, change my address at the bank, shop for groceries and post a parcel before midday!

Then Mich and I managed to paint all the woodwork in the spare room, paint damproof sludge onto 2 walls, take rubbish to the tip, tidy the back garden, tidy and vaccum the house and clear the spare room for wall painting today!

We had to leave the woodwork paint to dry until this evening but managed to go to the pub and have an adventure in Leighton Buzzard round at a local person's house (after a lock in) and got to bed at 3.30, well I did I think Mich went an hour before!

Then on Sunday we've driven to Buckingham (I drove :O))) ) Michelle played a rugby match (a good one but they didn't win) and I drove back! Quick cup of tea and we've put the 1st coat of wall paint on the walls, had dinner and washed up and done some laundry!!!

That's possibly more in the one weekend than I've done all year!

Here's some proof that we did actually do these things and that I'm not making it up:

Techy stuff, nice!

Great looking keyboard with LED keys which change their display depending on the application you're using - have a look to see what I mean: optimus keyboard

New kind of news website - well a blend of the types of site currently available - have a read if you're intersted here and here (email me for an invitation if you want one)
